About: Wichita Adaptive Sports (WAS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting adaptive sports and recreation in south-central Kansas. Their mission is to provide, promote, encourage, engage, and empower individuals with physical disabilities through sports and physical fitness activities.
WAS offers a variety of programs for both youth and adults, including adaptive cycling, swimming, tennis, track, wheelchair basketball, and recreational activities. These programs are designed to help individuals take control of their personal health through active living, offering opportunities to participate in clinics and competitions both locally and nationwide.
Each year, WAS serves over 100 youth, wounded warriors, and adults throughout the region, providing a support network that promotes both physical and mental health. The organization is supported by volunteers and donors and is always seeking new participants and supporters to join their community.
